What is a Personal Chef?

A Personal Chef is a culinary professional who designs and delivers personalized
culinary services for clients, in there homes, on a monthly, bi-monthly, weekly or
bi-weekly basis.

Unlike a 'private' chef, whom provides culinary services to one client on a full time basis,
a 'personal' chef has
multiple clients.

Unlike a 'caterer' who prepares food in a commercial kitchen, a personal chef does all of
the cooking in the client's home.

A personal chef provides customized selections of several meals, which are packaged
and then stored for the client to enjoy as each meal fits into their schedule and lifestyle.

Personal chefs meet the needs of clients whose schedule limits meal planning and
preparation to less than 2 hours per day, and who have a desire to integrate high-quality,
healthy meals into the everyday life of their homes.

Who would use a personal chef?

Anyone who doesn't have the time to plan, shop for and prepare home-cooked meals.  A
typical client is someone whom is tired of fast food or dining out and wants to enjoy
healthy, delicious, and affordable meals in the comfort of their own home.

Where are the meals prepared?

All your meals are prepared in the safety of your own kitchen, according to required food
safety guidelines. Cooking your meals in my home and then delivering them to you would
be easier but that is considered catering. The health department requires an inspected
and approved commercial kitchen for catering.

What is included in the Pinkies personal chef meal service?

Pinkies meal service is the most convenient and economical way to benefit from what I
do. It's an ongoing service based on your schedule.

A meal consist of an entree and two side dishes.  The side dishes are usually a
vegetable and a starch.  If you would like salad I will make enough for the first few days
The salads need to be eaten right away to ensure the freshness of the meal.  Would you
like appetizers, bread, or desserts these are also available at an additional fee.

What  kind of service should you expect?

I pride myself on providing quality service to you, my client.  I will work with you to fine
tune my service to meet your needs, making your life easier and less stressful.  I want
you to be satisfied with the service and offer a 100% satisfaction.

Is the service affordable?

Think about what you spend on take-out food, meals at restaurants, and convenience
food at  the grocery store, which includes boxed foods with lots of preservatives as well
as supermarket deli items.  Pinkies Personal Chef Service is less expensive!  Hiring a
personal chef is no longer a luxury afforded for only the rich and famous; it's a necessity
that's affordable.

What intangibles can a personal chef provide?

What is your time worth?  More importantly, what is your health worth?  Imagine coming
home from work to a clean kitchen and a hot, healthy meal in minutes, completed with
almost no effect on your part.  With Pinkies you get more hours in your day, to reduce
your stress levels, and you enjoy great meals.  The time you save on planning, shopping,
preparing and cooking (on average, 10 hours a week) can be better spent on family,
business, or entertainment.

How much refrigerator and freezer space do you need?

The space will depend on your packing choices (container and number of meals per
container)  We will work together to choose the most space-efficient yet most convenient
packaging for your needs.

How long should the food retain its optimum flavor?

Depending on the packing method you choose the precooked meals should retain their
flavor for two to six weeks in the freezer.  I do not recommend freezing every component
of some meals, especially those meant to be eaten with fresh herbs.  For example:  meals
with fresh, uncooked ingredients have a shorter fridge-life.  To make your life easy, I
recommend which meals to enjoy sooner than others.

How often should I schedule your service?

This will depend on the amount of meals, and servings, you feel you will need for the
typical week.  We will determine this together at our first meeting, and adjust as your
schedule and habits demand.

Can this service help me lose weight?

While I am not a registered dietitian, I am happy to prepare meals according to your
doctor or nutritionist's specifications. I am also familiar with many popular diet plans, such
as Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, Somersizing and Sugar Busters. My fee
includes the research and time needed to prepare the healthful meals you require.

When do you shop for ingredients?

Since quality ingredients make for quality meals, I grocery shop on the way to your home.
Because I shop just before I arrive at your home, I'll be happy to pick up an additional ten
items you may need such as bread, milk, juice, cereal, deli items, fruit, ice cream, diapers,
pet food, etc. You may never have to step foot in a grocery store again.

Do you use processed foods?

I use predominantly fresh produce and cook your meals from scratch. I use
quality-processed ingredients where fresh equivalents are unavailable or cost prohibitive.
For example, I use canned tomatoes, dry pasta and canned coconut milk. The only frozen
vegetables I use are peas that are not usually available fresh, and sometimes frozen corn
during the winter.
